I'm looking for an experienced proofreader and editor to review a technical or research-based white paper before publication. The role involves polishing the writing to ensure clarity, accuracy, and professionalism while preserving the author’s intended meaning and tone. Responsibilities - Review the entire white paper for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and typographical errors - Edit for sentence structure, clarity, and overall readability - Ensure logical flow and coherence between sections and paragraphs - Verify consistency in terminology, formatting, and style throughout the document - Check in-text citations and reference formatting (if applicable) - Provide editorial feedback and suggestions to strengthen arguments and presentation - Deliver a clean, publication-ready version of the white paper Requirements - Proven experience in editing and proofreading white papers, technical reports, or research documents - Exceptional command of written English and attention to detail - Familiarity with style guides (APA, Chicago, or company-specific) - Ability to work to deadlines and maintain confidentiality - Strong communication skills for clarifying editorial decisions Preferred Qualifications - Background in academic, technical, or business writing - Experience working with subject-matter experts - Familiarity with document collaboration tools (Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or Overleaf) Deliverables - Edited white paper with tracked changes - Final clean copy ready for submission or publication - Brief editorial summary highlighting key improvements
