Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning. Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers. The Manager, Warehouse Operations is responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound warehouse functions, including receiving, put away, returns, order picking, packing, and shipping. This role ensures operational efficiency, safety, and service excellence across the entire building. By effectively managing daily operations and leading warehouse personnel, the Manager supports the achievement of short-term business goals, enhances profitability, and fosters the development of warehouse talent. A key focus of this role is identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives through process improvements, resource optimization, and waste reduction. Additionally, the Manager plays a critical role in responding to urgent customer needs and supply chain disruptions to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer commitments. Your Contributions to the Organization will be: Oversees daily warehouse operations across both inbound and outbound functions, including receiving, put away, returns, order picking, packing, and shipping. Ensures all activities are executed in compliance with the business unit’s standard operating procedures and effectively implements operational changes as needed. Holds supervisors engaged and accountable for driving Hoshin projects and meeting tiered accountability metrics to support continuous improvement and strategic alignment. Directs people management processes for the warehouse, including staffing, training and development, and talent management for 80–100 staff. Recognizing the employees’ diverse skillsets and levels of experience, provides motivational leadership and champions a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and safety. Responds to disruptions across inbound and outbound operations to ensure customer commitments are fulfilled. Collaborates with Sales and Customer Service teams to understand customer concerns and adjusts operational plans and staffing resources accordingly. Manages all safety training and procedures for both inbound and outbound warehouse activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices. Applies deep knowledge of warehouse safety to proactively identify and mitigate risks. Monitors performance and productivity metrics across all warehouse functions and reports operational outcomes to the Site Director, using data to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. Identifies and implements significant cost-saving initiatives through process optimization, resource efficiency, and waste reduction. Ensures departmental operations are aligned with budgetary goals and actively manages expenses to meet financial targets. This Job might be for you if: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or equivalent work experience, preferred 8–12 years of experience in operations, logistics, or management roles. Proven leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Power BI). Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen); Kaizen leadership preferred. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and operational KPIs. Ensures team compliance with established guidelines, standards, and regulatory requirements. Makes operational decisions that have a short-term impact on workflows, outcomes, and customer satisfaction. Engages with internal and external stakeholders—including subordinates, peers, customers, suppliers, and occasionally senior leadership—to address operational issues and support project execution. Facilitates issue resolution and drives alignment across functions by building consensus and fostering collaborative relationships.
