Description: We’re launching Think Tank Thursdays — a weekly rooftop event in Yorkville, Toronto where entrepreneurs, bankers, and investors come together in a fresh, upbeat setting to connect, mentor, and explore funding opportunities. Imagine a mix of Shark Tank + rooftop lounge + podcast, designed to give life to great businesses. We’re looking for a virtual Event & Community Director to manage all planning, coordination, and partner relations remotely. The right person will be part operator, part community-builder, and part creative, able to manage logistics virtually while working with our local Toronto vendors and production team. ⸻ Responsibilities: • Oversee weekly event planning and execution (coordinate catering, DJ, AV, videographers). • Manage the business application process and curate weekly pitch lineups. • Build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, investors, and sponsors. • Coordinate with podcast/video production team to ensure smooth recording and publishing. • Create event run sheets, schedules, and vendor checklists. • Support sponsorship outreach with decks, follow-ups, and deliverables. • Keep the event on-brand: trendy, Yorkville vibe, fun but professional. • Track budgets, payments, and contracts. ⸻ Ideal Candidate: • Strong background in virtual event/project management. • Experience running networking events, startup programs, or pitch nights (finance/VC/media background is a plus). • Excellent communicator with proven ability to coordinate remote teams. • Organized, detail-oriented, and creative. • Comfortable liaising with high-level business people (bankers, entrepreneurs, sponsors).
