Job Description: I’m looking for an experienced product/industrial designer to help turn a fully developed concept into detailed CAD design files, ready for prototyping. The product is an improved, portable version of a pickleball net system with a unique telescoping and folding architecture (similar in quality and design language to high-end tripod systems). https://www.figma.com/design/uCEGKKlGNtRYgoaWVQ23xs/Pickleball-net?node-id=0-1&t=pWY4cAajkyBONccX-1 This will be an hourly-based engagement, especially during the early stages. I prefer to work collaboratively, with regular communication, visible progress, and iterative feedback. The goal is to work together over the next few weeks to move the design from concept → drawing → prototype-ready CAD. Ideal Candidate: -Experience with mechanical or folding/telescoping product design -Proficient in CAD (Fusion360, SolidWorks, Rhino, etc.) -Strong understanding of design for manufacturability -Communicates clearly and proactively -Comfortable working in weekly iterations rather than fixed-scope deliverables -Able to provide realistic expectations around hours, timelines, and cost Responsibilities: -Review provided concept drawings, animations, and requirements -Develop 3D CAD models for all components (poles, joints, hinges, leveling feet, etc.) -Produce exploded views, folding sequences, and mechanical details -Prepare files suitable for early prototyping (3D print, CNC, etc.) -Provide weekly updates and visible progress -Iterate based on feedback (Optional) Assist in sourcing a manufacturer for MVP production
