The Tax Information Filing Analyst reports to the Senior Director, RS&D, and is essential for performing several critical Tax Operations functions. The primary focus of this role is to handle the timely, accurate, and documented submission of tax information files from company's Regulatory Strategy & Delivery (RSD) to the CRA via a web-based portal. This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance with CRA filing requirements, managing a detailed submission log, and coordinating with IT support to resolve any submission-related issues.

Responsibilities
•Tax Compliance & Reporting: Ensure local compliance with tax obligations (including compliance, advisory, and planning) regarding the identification, tax treatment, withholding, and reporting of transactional and operational taxes.
•Tax Filing Process:
oUpload tax information files from a secure shared folder to the CRA via a CRA web-based portal.
oVerify and record confirmation of successful submissions, maintaining a comprehensive submission log.
oIdentify, document, and escalate failed submissions by creating tickets through the IT support process.
oLiaise with IT and the CRA to troubleshoot and resolve system or file errors promptly.
•Control and Risk Management: Establish and maintain robust controls surrounding the due diligence, withholding, and reporting of taxes, ensuring effective management and prompt escalation of risks in accordance with policies.
•Operational Support: Support day-to-day activities, including maintaining the Controls infrastructure and assisting with the integration of tax processes across various systems and departments within the Personal Banking (PB) unit.
•Client & Stakeholder Support: Work actively with internal Tax groups to ensure correct client/entity classification, complete relevant documentation for accurate taxation reportability, and resolve internal/external queries in a timely fashion.
•Process Improvement & Documentation: Support the continuous improvement of submission and logging processes, assist with system testing, drive process efficiency changes, and ensure all procedures are regularly maintained and updated.
•Reporting: Develop and ensure the provision of weekly, monthly, and annual KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and KRIs (Key Risk Indicators).
•Audit Preparedness: Assist in the completion of audit preparedness planning and execution.
Qualifications
Required Experience & Education
•A minimum of a University Degree in a Financial or Economic sector, or a recognized Financial based diploma.
•2-5 years of experience within an Operations environment of a financial institution.
•Experience with the CRA application and Tax Operations.
•Operational Tax Regulation knowledge and understanding of potential impacts to operational processing and infrastructure.
•Demonstrated ability to think critically and translate policy into documented procedures and controls.
Preferred
•Relevant Accountancy designations are a preference.
•Familiarity with Entity structures and knowledge of tax impacts on varying transactional flows and asset classes.
