Student, Program Innovation and Reporting
Number of Openings: 1
Term: January 5, 2026, to March 27, 2026
Schedule: 20 hours per week
Location: Ottawa, HQ
Salary: $17.30 to $30.20/hourly rate dependent on level of education
Language requirement: English Essential
Eligibility List: CATSA will use this opportunity to establish a list of candidates eligible to fill subsequent vacancies. The eligibility list may be used to staff permanent or fixed-term positions with similar responsibilities and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Management & Analysis
- Collect, analyze, and summarize operational data relevant to CATSA activities.
- Merge datasets from multiple sources and prepare them for structured analysis.
- Conduct ad-hoc data analysis to support decision-making and operational insights.
- Quality Assurance & Reporting
- Perform quality assurance checks on both existing and newly developed data sources and reports.
- Assist in documenting operational reporting procedures to ensure consistency and transparency.
- System Testing & Validation
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) for Business Intelligence (BI) reports and operational data collection systems.
- Operational Trial Support
- Contribute to the planning, monitoring, execution, and reporting of operational trials to evaluate new processes or technologies.
What you need to succeed:
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program in Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field aligned with the position’s responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to commit to project goals and timelines while contributing effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis tools such as SAS, SPSS, Python, or R is considered an asset.
- Experience with reporting and analytics platforms, particularly Microsoft Power BI, is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of mathematical and statistical principles and their practical applications in data analysis.

To qualify and to be considered for this employment, you must:
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
- Be available 20 hours weekly, with flexibility depending on project needs
- Be eligible to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- Be a full-time or part-time CEGEP, College or University student; and
- Be returning to full-time or part-time studies in the next academic year.
