Our Laboratory Technologist position provides opportunities to build a solid understanding of the Oil & Gas Industry and the opportunity for you to apply and build upon your laboratory skills. What you’ll do Processing routine internal samples, as well as assisting with internal analysis by various types of lab instrumentation/methods which could include the following: Inductively Coupled Plasma, Gas Chromatography, Spectrophotometry, Auto-Titration, Densitometer, Viscometer, NMR, Ion Chromatography, Dean Stark Distillation and BS&W Maintain calibration, functionality, and supply levels of lab instruments and consumables. Document and chart daily Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities for all equipment. Maintain accurate records and certificates for reference materials, instruments, standards, and products. Ensure compliance of test methods and reference standards with laboratory requirements Who you are Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications: Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa) Available to begin work in January 2026 Strong verbal and written communication skills Critical thinker and ability to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced, high-performing, team environment Flexible to changing work demands and ability to prioritize Innovative, with a strong desire to learn and the ability to encourage new ways of looking at problems, processes or solutions Demonstrates collaboration by actively seeking out diverse people and organizations to collectively achieve business goals Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Understanding of key safety principles and demonstrated safety leadership We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement. Education Must be enrolled in a Chemical Laboratory Technology Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities. Working Conditions May include frequency of travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, working at site, etc. Safety Sensitive This may be a safety-sensitive role, and you will also be required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during required work hours. Furthermore, you will also be required to pass the pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol assessment requirements. Safety sensitive positions require the operation of a motor vehicle, applicants are asked to provide a recent (i.e., issued within the previous 4 weeks) original driver’s abstract, for the preceding 5-year period, if offered the position.
