Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Follow emergency and safety procedures. Specialization or experience: Walls and other interior areas (i.e. partitions). Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Attention to detail. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
