Worker Type: Employee Job Post End Date: 03/09/2026 About this opportunity: Reporting to the measurement Manager, the Staff Field Measurement Technologist is responsible for implementing and stewarding the Cenovus Measurement Assurance Program (MARP) across assigned field assets. The role will ensure full compliance with Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) measurement directives and Cenovus standards. While this vacancy is currently at Christina Lake North this posting could be used to fill vacancies at any of the three Oil Sands Operations sites (Christina Lake, Foster Creek, or Sunrise, based on business need). Work Environment: This is a full-time employee position working a shift of 12 hrs/day, 7 days on 7 days off, Tuesday start. Foster Creek & Christina Lake Depending on your place of residence and your shift rotation, bus and/or air transportation to/from site is offered from designated departure points in select locations Foster Creek and Christina Lake has full-service camp facilities Foster Creek is serviced by flight Hubs in Calgary and Edmonton Christina Lake is serviced by flight Hubs in Calgary and Edmonton as well as bus transportation to site from La Corey, AB. and Lac La Biche, AB Sunrise Sunrise is located approximately 100 km northeast of the City of Fort McMurray and is a fly in/ fly out remote camp-based position. Cenovus will provide transportation to Christina Lake North from designated hubs out of Calgary and Edmonton At the Christina Lake North site, employees will be provided comfortable camp accommodations and recreational amenities What you’ll do: Provide technical expertise and oversight for regulatory meter maintenance, measurement system integrity, compliance documentation, and facility measurement performance. Ensure measurement related data, schematics, calibration results, turnover documentation, and maintenance records are accurate, complete, and properly managed. Ensure the collection of relevant turnover documentation from various teams, including commissioning (CSU), maintenance, projects, etc Develop and/or support the development of Measurement procedures, workflows, business practices to ensure maintained compliance and quality Responsible for maintaining MARP compliance, ensuring accurate measurement data and documentation. Support internal and external audits. Perform project and MOC reviews and executing performance evaluations for measurement systems. Interpret and implement AER directives, identify deferrals, validate compliance, and elevate issues as needed, involving both routine application of established processes and more complex problem solving when dealing with non standard measurement challenges or regulatory changes. Who you are: Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements: Legally authorized to work in Canada. Journeyman Instrumentation or Certified Engineering Technologist designation. Minimum 12+ years oil and gas experience within the measurement discipline. Strong familiarity with AER regulatory requirements (Directives 017, 042, 056). Proven experience in volumetric proving practices and industry best standards. Safety certifications such as H2S Alive, First Aid, Confined Space Entry/Rescue, TDF, and WHMIS, and PEIMS. As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments. For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
