As an ML Engineer in the BMO Financial Crimes Unit, you will directly contribute to this mission by designing, deploying, and operationalizing ML‑powered capabilities that elevate BMO’s ability to identify and mitigate financial crime risks across cyber, fraud, and physical domains. Currently 2 days in office is required. Key Responsibilities Design and build production-grade MLOps libraries and frameworks that support the full model development and deployment lifecycle, from experimentation through production. Design, build, and manage Copilot Studio agents, plugins, and orchestration workflows that integrate ML models and enterprise data. Translate data scientists’ code into scalable, efficient, and fault-tolerant implementations, optimizing runtimes and operational stability. Establish standardized patterns and reusable components for model training, packaging, deployment, and monitoring. Proactively contribute to improving model monitoring, observability, and operational readiness in production environments. KEY Skills and Education: 7+ years of experience with Python and SQL, and associated toolkits 4+ years in developing production‑grade machine learning, artificial intelligence, and agentic AI systems, preferably within financial services and banking. Experience designing and implementing agentic solutions using Copilot Studio or equivalent platforms 4+ years in MLOps best practices, including CI/CD for ML, and developing/extending MLOps frameworks and libraries to support the full model development lifecycle Clear, concise communication skills, capable of tailoring complex technical content to diverse audiences and ensuring alignment across technical and business stakeholders. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills, with the ability to approach ambiguous or novel situations creatively and effectively. Effective collaboration and teamwork, with a focus on cross‑functional and cross‑group partnership to drive enterprise‑level outcomes. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, or another quantitative discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Salary: $103,200.00 - $192,000.00 Pay Type: Salaried The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
