- Job Description
- AECOM has an immediate opening for a Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP). The HRBP is an individual contributor role reporting to the HR Business Leader and will work on a team of experienced HR Partners. This position is part of the Canada Region HR team and will be responsible for partnering with assigned client group(s).
- In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with the leaders to deliver a people strategy / talent agenda that drives business performance and growth. You will deliver a best-in-class employee experience through manager and employee coaching, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, labor and employee relations strategy, and implementing strategic HR initiatives (i.e., talent, culture, inclusion & diversity) at the local level.
- This position will offer some flexibility for hybrid work schedules, to include both in-office presence and virtual work, to be based from either Mississauga or Markham, Ontario, Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as day-to-day and strategic partner to assigned client group(s) including activities such as supporting/leading on employee relations, talent management, performance management, HR reporting and compliance.
- Coach and consult leaders and people managers on organizational effectiveness, talent management, performance and development so they can lead the organization to meet established business targets using best practice techniques and processes.
- Leverage change management and organizational development tools to facilitate organizational redesigns, team integrations and new manager assimilations.
- Facilitate the talent review process and create plans to develop and deploy our key talent and address succession gaps.
- Implement and support talent development, performance management, and engagement initiatives within client groups in order to become “a great place to work” company.
- Analyze people metrics to identify trends and courses of action; make people metrics visible routinely to drive leadership behavior and action.
- In collaboration with Compensation team, ensure client group is able to attract, reward, and retain needed talent while ensuring internal pay equity.
- Understand existing workforce and work with managers to anticipate program wins and losses to redeploy resources.
- Work with Talent Acquisition, Hiring Managers and Resource Directors to ensure robust, efficient, process that secures the key talent we need to manage the business.
- Providing consultation, guidance and support in all matters related to employee relations including performance management, code of conduct, fair employment practices, accommodations and all other application of local policies, work rules, procedures and applicable laws.
- Provide business and employee perspective and insights to Centers of Excellence in order to represent the business in HR strategy/program/policy development.
- Supporting client groups with day-to-day inquiries which may include guidance on Employee Center submissions, Workday, partnering with People Services or other CoEs, responding to employee inquiries, and providing various business line support as needed.
- Support the HR Business Leader with preparing and analyzing HR metrics and reports to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field plus at least 8 years of experience in HR roles or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, labour laws, and regulations.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Strategic HR Business Partner experience, including experience working in complex, global organizations
- Experience working within a professional / consulting services company
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Workday
- Strong organizational and time management skills, as well as excellent problem solving & critical thinking skills
- French language skills.
- Indigenous relations experience an asset
