Role Description
This role involves providing SQL DBA support in a dynamic IT environment at Itron.
- Resolve complex SQL Server technical issues for internal customers.
- Support all internal systems and applications issues.
- Provide remote support including end-user support and business systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL servers.
- Perform daily administrative tasks such as monitoring alerts and backups.
- Implement security requests and manage support tickets.
- Create and maintain documentation for each database.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of experience working with SQL Server PROD environment.
- Mandatory skillset: Azure VM, Azure SQL, PowerBI, PowerShell Scripting, Performance Tuning, SSAS/SSIS administration.
- Experience with Always-On and administering MS SQL Server version 2016 or later.
- Strong knowledge of data backup, recovery, and security.
- Intermediate knowledge of networking and Windows Server.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong sense of accountability and ownership of production issues.
Requirements
- Experience with Failover Clustering, High Availability, Data Migrations, Upgrades.
- Ability to debug the system for issues and provide clarity/workarounds.
- Build automation and scripts to proactively identify issues.
- Support data replication from PROD to PRE-PROD and UAT environments.
- Flexibility to work in rotational shifts.
