We at Manulife / John Hancock are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Quality Engineer Manager to lead a team of Quality Engineers and create strategic plans for quality and test engineering processes, reporting, and metrics. Office locations: Boston-USA or Toronto-Canada Work Arrangement: role requires to be Hybrid - 3 days in Office, 2 days from Home. Position Responsibilities: Lead and oversee comprehensive QE test strategies to ensure delivery of high-quality life insurance products. Manage, mentor and coach a team of Quality Engineers, promoting best practices and adherence to test engineering processes to cultivate high-performing teams. Collaborate with IT leadership, development teams, and business stakeholders to align on life insurance product requirements and priorities. Optimize testing efforts using predictive tools to adapt to changing project demands. Implement continuous improvements, enhance agility, and utilize subject matter expertise to accelerate speed to market. Lead product-driven teams and manage product launches in a dynamic environment, coordinating efforts with multiple vendors. Build and maintain strong relationships across the organization to eliminate QE roadblocks and foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement. Monitor and analyze QE metrics to assess process effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement. Participate actively in strategic planning sessions to ensure optimal allocation of QE team members to projects. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Strong knowledge working with life insurance products, processes, and regulations. Croos-functional leadership across testing Ability to lead/strategize testing 8-10 years experience in leading software quality engineering Adept knowledge of policy admin and integration systems 5+ years’ experience leading Quality Engineering initiatives with proven outcomes such as reduced time-to-market for insurance products, improved defect detection rates, and enhanced customer satisfaction through increased test automation. 5+ years’ experience leading end-to-end testing with the ability to identify, categorize, and mitigate risks across applications and database platforms within a cross-functional environment. Experience with test tools such as Selenium, TestNG, and Postman, and familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins for automated testing pipelines. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve excellence. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a history of using data-driven insights to drive improvements in testing processes to deliver business impact. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in defining and measuring key quality metrics and driving performance improvements. Experience in managing relationships and deliverables with external vendors and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
