  • Job Description
  • The successful applicant will be part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the care of patients and families with their specific unit, reporting to the Patient Care Manager, with professional accountability to the Professional Leader for Social Work. The social worker will be an integral part of the Social Work professional team, participating in yearly strategic planning initiatives and corporate professional development.
  • Qualifications
  • Ability to provide coverage in Critical Care and throughout the organization as required
  • Master's degree in Social Work required
  • 3 – 5 years' experience working within a specific unit
  • Knowledgeable in community resources
  • Eligible for O.C.S.W.S.S.W. membership
  • Knowledge and experience working with relevant legislation (/i.e.: SDM Act, POA, Consent and Capacity, etc)
  • Knowledge of the psychosocial impact of chronic illness on the person and the family
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • May be required to travel between and work at all hospital campuses
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to set priorities as required
  • Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills required
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record
  • Computer proficiency preferred
  • Must be able to travel to all sites including satellite unit

  • Hours: Currently Days, 8 hour shifts, and some evenings or weekend work may be required (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

SALARY

  • Minimum: $44.69 per hour
  • Maximum: $57.93 per hour
