We are seeking a creative and organized Social Media Manager to design, write captions, schedule, and launch engaging content for the York Artistic Swimming Club on Facebook and Instagram. This role requires a passion for social media and a proactive personality, as you will learn about the club and the sport in order to create meaningful, community-driven posts. If you love both sports and digital storytelling, this is the opportunity for you! While some posts can be scheduled in advance during regular working hours, please note that certain content will need to be created and launched on weekends during competition periods. York Artistic Swimming Club (YASC) is a non-profit sports organization in Ontario, Canada. Our club is more than a place for children to learn and practice artistic swimming—it’s a community that helps athletes build healthy lifestyles, strengthen life skills, and develop the capacity to learn and achieve goals. As Social Media Manager, you will play a key role in enhancing our online presence, growing engagement, and connecting with our members and community. If you have a flair for visual storytelling and a knack for writing engaging captions, we want to hear from you! RESPONSIBILITIES - Develop a content calendar for Facebook and Instagram with the support of a marketing representative of the club. - Write engaging captions and design visually appealing posts that reflect the club’s values and activities. - Schedule posts in advance and ensure timely posting for certain planned posts. - Prepare competition or on-demand posts in reasonable turnaround time. - Collaborate with coaches, staff, and volunteers to gather content ideas and updates. QUALIFICATIONS - Strong knowledge of Facebook and Instagram best practices (Stories, Reels, hashtags, tagging, etc.). - Experience with content creation using Canva - Excellent writing skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences. - Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple posts and deadlines. - Availability to create/post content during weekdays and some weekends, especially competition periods. - Previous social media management experience (professional or volunteer). - Passion for sports, fitness, or youth programming is an asset!
