Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. At heights. Work setting: Installation. Shop fabrication. Relocation costs not covered by employer. Willing to relocate. Tasks: Design duct systems. Manufacture and assemble in the factory the ducts for hot air heating, air conditioning and ventilation. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Measure and mark sheet metal according to template. Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces. Operate plasma cutters. Instruct apprentices. Supervise other workers. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Estimate costs and materials. Fit and join sheet metal parts. Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Aerial lift and aerial work platform Certification. Sheet Metal Worker Trade Certification. Sheet Metal Worker Red Seal Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Forklift Operator Certification. Welding techniques: Gas metal ARC (GMAW) (MIG). Specialization or experience: Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. Humidifier system.
