Cella by Randstad Digital is excited to partner with a leading client in Technology Development and Client Services to find a highly talented and motivated Senior UX/UI Designer. This is a fantastic 14-month contract opportunity to join a team focused on designing, developing, and implementing innovative short and long-term solutions within their information technology landscape. This role is hybrid in Toronto. You'll play a critical role in shaping the user experience for both consumer-facing (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) applications, working at the intersection of product, engineering, and business needs.
As a Senior UX/UI Designer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design process—from initial research and discovery through final design implementation. Responsibilities
Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to transform concepts into executable product designs.
Research and Discovery: Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including user interviews, flows, and usability testing, leveraging insights to drive and justify design decisions.
Planning and Strategy: Strategically plan and prioritize design features for product sprints, ensuring alignment with overall business and user needs.
Design Execution: Create and deliver clean, simplified, mobile-first designs via high-quality wireframes, mockups, user journeys, and interactive prototypes.
Innovation and Iteration: Focus on continuous iteration and improvement for consumer and business-facing applications.
Storytelling: Articulate design rationale clearly and lead presentations for high-complexity projects to various stakeholders.
Design System: Actively contribute to, refine, and maintain the design system to ensure product consistency and scalability across platforms.
User Experience Design: Design intuitive and user-centered interfaces based on a deep understanding of user needs and behaviors, utilizing research and testing for refinement.
User Interface Design: Create visually appealing designs (layout, color, typography, iconography) for digital products, ensuring a compelling aesthetic.
Qualifications
A minimum of 7 years of practical experience in UX and UI Design, demonstrated through a strong professional portfolio.
Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field, or equivalent relevant practical experience.
Exceptional communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate and defend design decisions and rationale.
High proficiency in Figma and experience with other modern design tools (e.g., Sketch, Adobe XD).
Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and guidelines.
Familiarity with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is beneficial.
Experience working with design systems and component libraries is highly desirable.
