  • Your role
  • Join our team as a Senior Project Manager with the Southern Ontario team.
  • In this role, you’ll join our team of experts who lead major capital building and infrastructure projects. The leader must have experience delivering programs of work or large capital projects for institutional clients, with an impressive portfolio of healthcare sector experience. The ideal applicant has led projects from beginning to end - preliminary planning, programming, schematic and detailed design, construction and occupancy.
  • Responsibilities
  • Develop strong client relationships and lead healthcare projects from beginning to end, to achieve our client’s goals and objectives;
  • Lead program and project planning, scheduling and budgeting, consultant tendering and selection, operational readiness planning, and contract administration efforts;
  • Regularly report to the client on project status by means of schedule updates, meeting minutes, financial records and other reports;
  • Manage project staff allocated to your projects, peer reviewing their deliverables and continuously developing their knowledge and capabilities;
  • Chair client, project and site meetings, find resolution to issues and coordinate between multiple stakeholders
  • Provide oversight and leadership to the change management process, payment certificates and other contract or project related administrative documents;
  • Ensure that client expectations and satisfaction are met or exceeded on all projects and the client’s best interests are represented with respect to contractual and technical issues;
  • Select and organize project teams and establish levels of authority and lines of communication.
  • Qualifications
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in project management, delivering new build and capital improvement projects.
  • Recent experience delivering projects in the healthcare sector, advising and working collaboratively with senior stakeholders (healthcare and clinical teams);
  • Knowledge of healthcare standards such as: CSA Z800, CSA Z317, Accreditation Canada Healthcare Standards;
  • Experience with for-profit healthcare (e.g., Long term care, ambulatory surgical centres, diagnostic imaging centres, etc.) is an asset
  • A university degree or diploma in design, architecture or engineering (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience);
  • Keen understanding of healthcare organizations and their operational constraints;
  • Depth of knowledge in program and project planning, scheduling and budgeting, interior and base building construction techniques, operational readiness, and contract admin;
  • Experience with the preparation of Requests for Proposals, Tenders and Tender closing/award procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills;
  • Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications;
  • PMP designation and LEED AP accreditation is an asset.
