About

  • Mercury’s marketing team is ~50 people across brand, growth, product marketing, and design — working together to scale our reach, connect with new audiences, and bring ambitious creative ideas to market. To get our most impactful efforts into the world seamlessly, we need someone focused on elevating how we operate so the team can focus their energy on doing their best work.
  • We’re looking for a Senior Program Manager to help us do just that. This role has two core pillars: program management (designing systems, processes, and automations that scale) and project management (driving campaigns and initiatives to completion). You’ll help create the workflows, tools, and operating rhythms that make the marketing team more effective, and you’ll also manage our most important projects directly — ensuring they’re delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard.
  • You’ll also bring an ability to spot automation opportunities in how the team works. We’re experimenting with custom GPTs and workflow automations; you’ll help take that further — finding practical ways to save time, reduce busywork, and improve outcomes.
  • This is a high-leverage, cross-functional role for someone who loves both operational problem-solving and hands-on execution. You’ll collaborate with leaders across the team on priorities, while working day-to-day with the designers, copywriters, product marketers, and more who bring our work to life.
  • If this sounds like you…
  • A systems thinker who doesn’t just fix problems in the moment, but designs solutions that scale…
  • A project manager who thrives on clarity, timelines, and accountability…
  • Someone energized by both strategic design and hands-on execution…
  • An AI-fluent builder who loves experimenting with tools and automations to increase efficiency and impact…
  • Then read on.

In this role, you will

  • Design and improve systems that help the team prioritize and execute the highest-impact work
  • Own project management for campaigns and initiatives: scope projects, set timelines, align stakeholders, track progress, and keep work moving - working closely with designers, copywriters, product marketers, and other teammates
  • Spot and implement automation opportunities - building custom GPTs, improving workflows in our core tools, and testing new tools you think could benefit the team
  • Manage budgets, vendors, and other recurring operational tasks - ensuring spend is tracked, resources are allocated effectively, and processes run smoothly

You have

  • 4-7 years of experience in operations, program/project management, or related roles in marketing, creative, or startup environments
  • A proven track record of both running projects directly and building systems that improved team effectiveness
  • Hands-on experience implementing automation tools to improve workflows
  • Experience owning budgets, vendors, and operational details
  • Proficiency with project management tools (Asana, Notion, etc)
  • Clear, structured communication skills and the ability to influence cross-functional partners
  • Experience balancing speed and structure in a fast-moving environment

Bonus points for

  • A tinkerer’s mindset - maybe you’ve even vibe-coded a lightweight solution when no perfect tool existed
  • A knack for teaching or evangelizing new tools and processes in a way that gets others excited to adopt them
  • A sharp creative sensibility - you recognize high-quality work and know when it meets the bar
  • The total rewards package at Mercury includes base salary, equity, and benefits.
