TD Securities Veritas Team The TD Securities Veritas Platform is the cross-asset pricing and risk management platform for TD Securities. The TD Securities Veritas team maintains the strategic storage and compute infrastructure for numerous business-aligned products used within the capital markets. It is responsible for the applications and APIs that make Trade, Market Data and Reference Data available in real time. We pride ourselves on working backwards from a customer's need by leveraging the latest technologies comprised of numerous microservices built on open-source technologies. Our technology stack consists of: Java 12 and Scala for general purpose programming ZeroMQ, and web sockets for remoting Apache Cassandra for data storage Messaging technologies (e.g. Kafka) for streaming and distribution Google Protocol Buffers for serialization DynaTrace, Splunk and Graphana for metrics Linux as the operating system (RHEL 9) Job Overview We are looking for a Platform Specialist to join the TD Securities Veritas team. In this role, you will support our engineering team to execute infrastructure upgrades, launch new real time data streams and manage cross-functional initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies to solve problems of scale and speed. An ideal candidate is a seasoned Business Systems Analyst with experience in the capital markets domain and a proven track record of managing scalable data systems. As a key player in our organization, you will execute our strategic roadmap and ensure seamless technical delivery of mission-critical systems. You should be self-motivated, have excellent communication skills, and thrive in a collaborative environment. You will be successful in this role if you have: Confidence and ability to navigate complex processes, oversee and work independently on a variety of initiatives requiring specialist knowledge Talent in quickly developing trust in cross-functional relationships, willingness in providing guidance and influence multiple teams across a broad spectrum of initiatives and functional domains Motivation for problem solving and ability to quickly learn technical details of data platform’s applications, configurations, and workflows Desire to drive change and shape the future of how the Veritas team operates Key Responsibilities Develop deep familiarity with the platform’s applications, configurations, and workflows to identify areas requiring improvement or additional controls Drive the strategic vision, roadmap, and execution of a multithreaded, high-performance application Own end-to-end delivery, from design and development to production deployment and ongoing maintenance Oversee the integration and optimization of big data databases and real-time frameworks, including but not limited to Cassandra, Kafka, Flink, and similar technologies Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as CDO, risk management, and data science, to ensure alignment with business objectives Establish best practices for scalability, performance, and reliability in high-frequency, low-latency environments Foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence into the data platform architecture and workflows Facilitate regular check-ins and progress updates, ensuring clear communication across engineering leads and senior stakeholders Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in our domain, keep current with the latest technology trends and develop expertise in TD Securities business areas Qualifications Bachelor's degree in technology, business, or related field 5-7 years of IT experience in the financial services industry, with a deep understanding of trading workflows, market data, and risk systems Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional projects while executing roadmaps and handling technical delivery is required Experience working in Agile Scrum is an asset Familiarity with cloud-based architectures (Azure, or GCP) is a plus Strong knowledge of big data technologies and low-latency systems such as Cassandra, Kafka, and Flink Proficiency in system architecture, including distributed systems, caching, and data replication is a plus Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a hands-on approach to technology Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with all levels of staff and management.
