- As the Senior Payroll Administrator - US, you will lead accurate, compliant, and timely US payroll operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. In this role, you’ll partner closely with the US Payroll Supervisor, mentor team members, and ensure payroll accuracy for our US employees, while staying ahead of complex state regulatory requirements.

Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor - US, the Senior Payroll Administrator - US will undertake the following RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the Payroll Supervisor to mentor and train new team members, helping them develop to their full potential and meet team and organizational goals
- Oversee the preparation and accuracy of various information reports, including labour, benefits, and head count reporting
- Stay current with all changes regarding payroll regulations by researching government website and attend payroll seminars and conferences
- Ensure accurate and timely payment of compensation and benefits to employees and source deductions to third parties
- Communicate effectively with leaders, employees, colleagues and service providers in a professional manner
- Implement and maintain payroll controls approved by the Payroll Supervisor to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing
- Monitor and interpret US payroll, compensation, and benefits regulations; implement required changes and communicate updates to management and stakeholders
- Prepare accurate, complete and timely filings and reporting to regulatory and other third parties
- Respond to payroll enquiries from workers, government agencies
- Process US payroll including changes in payroll registers
- Review the accuracy and completeness of payroll data, and investigate anomalies
- Review year-end wage and tax reports, state filings reports, and yearly deposits of filings.
- Follow up with ADP on any adjustments needed for the Year-End process
- Verify that new pay codes are correctly mapped to W-2 forms and that employer-paid benefits are accurately reported
- Prepare and file W-2C corrections with the SSA when errors are identified
- Reconcile vacation and sick balances after each payroll, investigate discrepancies, process adjustments, and complete annual rollovers
- Ensure accurate tracking of staff vacation, sick leave, and/or banked time
- Coordinate with external auditors for audit testing as required
- Reconcile payroll records to ensure journal entries, records of employment and remittances are submitted accurately and on time
- Partner with Benefits, P&C and other departments to ensure that all information is accurately maintained and reported
- Support the Payroll Supervisor with ad-hoc tasks as required
You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 5+ years of progressive experience in high volume North American payroll
- Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now
- Experience with financial statements and payroll tax audits, income tax forms, employee expenses and payroll accruals
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory State compliance and procedures including labour laws and employment standards
- Strong attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills both written and spoken
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
Preferred
- Post-Secondary education in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance
- PCP certification or equivalent
- Based in or near Toronto, ON or Vancouver, BC
- Job Type: Regular, Full Time
- Job Location: Located in either Vancouver or Toronto. Hybrid - 2 days per week (Thursdays & Fridays)

- This salary range is based on an assessment of the local market and may vary depending on the successful candidate's location. This range is based on base salary and does not include additional bonus program and total rewards eligibility.

- $74,600—$74,600 CAD
