- About the Role
- As the Senior Manager, IT Business Solutions, you will lead the delivery, maturity, and performance of FreshBooks’ internal business systems. You will guide a multidisciplinary team across analysis, architecture, and development to ensure our technology investments deliver measurable business impact. You will oversee the execution of the internal technology roadmap, champion high-quality engineering practices, and ensure reliable, scalable systems across the organization. You will work closely with cross-functional leaders to shape the future of our internal applications and integrations.
- What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and manage a high-performing team of Business Analysts, Software Developers, and a Solutions Architect.
- Oversee the delivery, implementation, and support of internal business systems (e.g., Zuora, NetSuite), ensuring projects are on time, on budget, and deliver expected ROI.
- Direct the development, testing, deployment, and support of internally built applications that enhance operational efficiency.
- Partner with the IT Planning team to provide accurate cost, effort, and resource estimates to support roadmap decisions and stage-gate approvals.
- Guide architectural standards across internal systems, ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable integrations.
- Champion best practices for SDLC, code quality, testing, and CI/CD to strengthen system reliability and maturity.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues, proactively managing risks, bottlenecks, and operational stability.
- What You’ll Bring
- 5–7+ years of progressive experience managing technical teams, including Developers, Business Analysts, and Solutions Architects.
- Deep experience delivering and maintaining complex internal systems (ERP, CRM, billing platforms such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Zuora).
- Hands-on familiarity with application development and integration technologies (Python, SQL, React, HTML, JavaScript, CSS).
- Proven success leading large cross-functional technology initiatives from planning to deployment and stabilization.
- Strong grounding in Agile methodologies, change management, and software development best practices.
- Ability to turn strategic business needs into clear, actionable technical plans.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

- Experience working in an operating model that separates Planning (Product) from Delivery (Engineering).
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, or technology evaluation.
