Job Description: Job Description • Thrive in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment, managing multiple deadlines and priorities • Ability to deal with ambiguity effectively and can lead, facilitate and support through change. • Take risks that are understood and can be managed. • Effectively challenge business leaders while providing value added guidance • Highly motivated individual with a track record of successfully developing and implementing large scale programs with superior results, while managing effectively in a highly matrixed environment. • Work with a pool of experts and ensure high levels of service even when the effort crosses organizational boundaries • Possess and operate with a strong Control/Risk Management mindset • Work collaboratively with others as we innovate and simplify Individual Role Accountabilities: • As a member of the Bank’s second line of defense, this role is responsible for the strategic direction, governance and oversight of fraud analytics programs at the enterprise and Europe, Asia and Pacific (EAP) level •Perform and oversee risk reviews and credible challenge of the adequacy and effectiveness of fraud models, tooling, rules, and strategies •Oversees and challenges external fraud and insider threat detection capabilities with also understanding IT, cybersecurity, and HR teams •Partnership with model risk management •Ensures adequacy, effectiveness, and alignment with risk appetite. •Champion the use of machine learning, advanced statistics, and data science techniques to optimize the trade-offs between fraud detection, customer experience, and operational efficiency. •Provide strategic challenge of fraud prevention and detection strategies across the customer lifecycle, including onboarding/acquisition, authentication, and transaction monitoring. •Engage with and influence senior stakeholders through clear communication and compelling data-driven narratives. •Demonstrate strong knowledge and oversight of both proprietary (homegrown) and vendor fraud tools and solutions. •Provide routine and regular reporting of activities, issues and events, through appropriate channels. Shared Responsibilities •Work with control partners and stakeholders across the enterprise (e.g., U.S. Fraud Risk Management, Data Risk, Technology Risk, Cybersecurity Risk, Human Resources, Legal, Technology, Privacy, etc.,) to ensure controls related to fraud analytics are considered holistically across the enterprise and within our policies, standards and reporting. •Risk culture and supporting a strong risk-aware culture •Partnership with Model Risk Management Skills, Education & Experience • Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s degree or other advanced certifications in analytics, data science, statistics, or a related field is a strong asset. • 10+ years of experience in analytics or data science within fraud and risk management, preferably in a financial services environment. • Deep understanding of analytical tools, techniques, and models used for fraud risk mitigation across the full customer lifecycle for both payment and lending products. • Professional experience across banking segments, including consumer, commercial, and brokerage. • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently. • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams, geographic regions, and organizational levels. • Exceptional communication and presentation skills to interact with and influence senior leaders and key stakeholders. • Ability to communicate complex data related topics and transformational change drivers to the broader US organization, including Regulators. • Can build strong relationships, effective collaborator, communicator and ability to influence, providing challenge and push bas as needed and advancing decision making.
