About
We are seeking an IT Enterprise Architect/Strategist for a five-month contract, with one option for extension. This is a hybrid role, requiring the candidate to work in the Toronto office three days per week. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the IT Enterprise Architecture (EA) strategy, focusing on modernization, open-source governance, and the adoption of advanced technologies like AI/ML.

Responsibilities
- Develop, recommend, and manage the IT Enterprise Architecture strategy and standardization practices for the organization.
- Guide the use of modular architecture, including microservices, APIs, and standardized application patterns, to streamline the application landscape and reduce cost.
- Provide architectural expertise in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), LLM, RAG, and Cloud technologies.

- Define and enforce governance frameworks, standards, and best practices for the open-source software ecosystem.
- Define business capabilities, align strategic objectives with technology, and provide direction on operationalizing business strategy.
- Lead design discussions, present recommendations to stakeholders, and ensure technical concepts are clearly communicated across business and technical teams.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in Enterprise Architecture and standardization practices.
- Deep knowledge and experience in Application Architecture, Technology Architecture, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
- Experience with modular architecture, including microservices, API, and standardized application patterns.
- Demonstrated Strategic thinking with the ability to define business capabilities and align technology with business vision.
- Extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of open-source software ecosystems, governance frameworks, standards, and best practices.
- Knowledge of Cloud architecture and relevant technologies (DevOps, CI/CD, security, networking).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills to advise and influence stakeholders.
- Proven ability to build relationships, liaise with external partners/vendors, and manage project deliverables.
