Salary

  • Impact Advisory 15: Salaries typically range from $63,894 - $85,194 annually plus a performance-based incentive.
  • Impact Advisory 16: Salaries typically range from $72,840 - $97,121 annually plus a performance-based incentive.

  • Position & Team Overview
  • As part of the Impact Enablement function, the Impact Strategies & Thought Leadership team ensures that FinDev Canada’s approach to development impact remains aligned with its corporate objectives. Working closely with colleagues across the Investment, Strategy, Marketing & Communications, and Digital Office teams—as well as with clients – the (Senior) Impact Associate will play a key role in the implementation and continuous improvement of impact tools, practices, and methodologies, helping to optimize the organization’s performance across its development impact priorities.
  • What You Will Be Doing

As an Impact Associate, you will support the Impact Enablement team by

  • Assisting in the maintenance and refinement of FinDev Canada’s impact management infrastructure, including its proprietary development impact tool and impact data management system, ensuring alignment with current evidence and best practices.
  • Identifying and documenting opportunities to improve impact tools and processes, with guidance from senior team members.
  • Performing quantitative analysis of development impact and ESG data to support reporting and decision-making.
  • Gathering and organizing data for use in the annual report, blog, and social media content related to FinDev Canada’s portfolio.
  • Monitoring developments in development finance and technology and sharing relevant updates with the team.
  • Providing general support on projects and initiatives led by the Impact Enablement team.

Building on the Associate role, the Senior Impact Associate will take on more independent and cross-functional responsibilities, including

  • Engaging with colleagues across the Impact and Investment teams to gather feedback and contribute to the evolution of impact tools and processes.
  • Conducting independent research and analysis using internal and external data sources to support impact strategies, reports, and storytelling.
  • Supporting FinDev Canada’s reporting and verification obligations as a signatory to the Operating Principles for Impact Management (OPIM).
  • Contributing to the design and delivery of training sessions on development impact for internal and external audiences.
  • Playing a key role in content development for the annual report, blog, and social media, with increasing ownership over specific topics.
  • Contributing to research and thought leadership initiatives that align with FinDev Canada’s impact priorities.
  • What We Are Looking For
  • Must-haves
  • Undergraduate degree program in economics, finance, international development, data science, or another related field. Graduate degree is an asset.
  • Associate: Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in impact investing, development finance, data analysis, or a related field.
  • Senior Associate: Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience, with demonstrated ability to work independently and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Dataverse, Power BI, and/or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Bilingual in both official languages (French and English) preferred.
  • Nice-to-Have
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience working with other Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) or Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs).
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and experience with, economic and development challenges in FinDev Canada’s regions of operations.
  • Being a solution-orientated self-starter, with the ability to work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical and organization skills, with an eye for detail.
  • Demonstrating personal agility by adapting quickly to changing situations and demands.
  • Strong business communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and storytelling techniques to communicate impact effectively.
