About
- Clio is more than just a tech company–we are a global leader that is transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice. Summary: We are currently seeking a Senior Editor and Content Strategist (SEO) to join our SEO Content Team in Vancouver or Toronto. What your team does: The SEO Content Team at Clio is responsible for driving the majority of organic traffic to the website. From blog posts, to hub resources, to optimizations of our product and feature pages, this team has a major impact on Clio’s main web property, and a major impact on the business. Who you are You’re a seasoned editor‑writer and data‑driven SEO strategist. Long‑form blogs, product pages, thought‑leadership reports, you’ve polished them all, matching voice, tone, and intent while weaving in keyword strategy that wins snippets and drives pipeline. BrightEdge, GA4, Search Console, and Looker are your command centre; you turn dashboards into clear road‑maps and measurable wins. You thrive on collaboration, translate stakeholder asks into crisp briefs, and mentor writers to elevate craft. Impact over perfection is your mantra, but your sharp eye catches every misplaced comma. Most of all, you’re curious: you want to see how each edit, optimisation, and fresh draft moves rankings, traffic, MQLs, and revenue. What you’ll work on Edit & coach: Line‑edit 6‑8 articles/month and provide actionable feedback to elevate voice, structure, and legal accuracy. Write flagship pieces: Own the pen on high‑impact content (e.g., data reports, cornerstone guides, key product/feature pages) when projects require a lead author. Surface SEO insights: Run quarterly deep‑dives using BrightEdge, Semrush, GA4, and GSC to identify opportunity gaps and create an optimisation backlog. Execute optimisation roadmap: Deliver quick‑win updates (schema, SERP‑feature captures, internal‑link refreshes) that lift traffic and conversions. Partner cross‑functionally: Work closely with our blog content strategist on calendar planning, and with Demand Gen, Brand, and SEM to align paid & organic search strategies. Champion best practices: Document and disseminate SEO + editorial standards across the wider marketing org. What you may have Post‑secondary education in communications, journalism, English, or similar. 7+ years owning SEO content programmes for a brand, including both creation and optimisation. Proven ability to prioritise SEO bets via data analysis (BrightEdge/Semrush) and business impact scoring. Hands‑on experience structuring page copy site‑wide for maximum SERP visibility and user intent satisfaction. Comfort working with SEM, UX, product marketing, PMs, and other channel owners. Track record running complex projects calmly and delivering on deadline. Exceptional communication skills to keep distributed teams aligned on SEO projects and strategy. "Superhuman" attention to detail—you are the first and last line of defence against typograph1cal errorz. Serious bonus points if you have B2B SaaS or tech‑sector experience. SEM/PPC campaign knowledge. Background in the legal industry (JD, paralegal certificate, or legal‑audience writing). A portfolio demonstrating how your strategy, writing, and optimisation delivered traffic, ranking, lead, or backlink growth.
