Role description: The Senior Drainage Design Engineer will lead the design and implementation of drainage and stormwater management systems for major infrastructure projects in Ontario. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions. This position sits within our Mobility Global Business Area. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods. Role accountabilities: In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of innovative and effective drainage and stormwater management systems for a variety of infrastructure projects. Drawing on your deep technical expertise, you will provide guidance in areas such as hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, stormwater management, and erosion control. Your leadership will be crucial in managing project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring that all deliverables are completed efficiently and meet the highest standards of quality. Additionally, you will ensure that all designs are fully compliant with local, provincial, and federal regulations and industry standards. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to seamlessly integrate drainage solutions into broader project designs. In this role, you will conduct field inspections and site assessments to verify the quality, functionality, and performance of drainage systems. You will also be responsible for preparing comprehensive technical reports, detailed drawings, and precise specifications to support the successful delivery and implementation of drainage projects. Furthermore, in this role you will have the opportunity to mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. By sharing your knowledge and expertise, you will help develop the next generation of engineering professionals and contribute to the overall success of the team. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in drainage design and stormwater management, with a focus on infrastructure projects P.Eng (Professional Engineer) designation with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is required Proficiency in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM), CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Openroads), and GIS applications Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly Why Arcadis? The salary range for this position is $78,000 - $117,000. The base salary represents Arcadis' hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
