About

I’m looking for a senior-level 3D artist or small studio to transfer an architectural interior project from Unreal Engine into Blender. (Hotel Ballroom) This posting is for Phase 1 only, with the intention of potentially continuing into Phase 2 (rendering) if the collaboration is a good fit. This is a proper asset-based pipeline, not a one-click conversion. Experience, organization, and good technical judgment matter here. PROJECT STRUCTURE PHASE 1 *** Translation & Orientation (This Contract) *** Goal: Deliver a navigation-friendly Blender master file that I can open, explore, and use for shot planning. Scope of work: Export geometry and animations from Unreal Engine via FBX Import and organize the full scene cleanly in Blender Rebuild materials using a correct PBR workflow (Principled BSDF) Recreate lighting in Blender to visually match Unreal reference renders Ensure correct scale, pivots, naming conventions, and clean collections Project notes: The scene is assembled in Unreal Engine, but the original assets were OBJ and/or FBX based. The main ballroom environment originated as a 3ds Max (.max) file Additional assets are available online and/or as OBJ, STL, or FBX files The Unreal project and all relevant assets will be provided via download links *** Key Deliverables (Very Important) The primary deliverable is a Blender master file optimized for usability, not final rendering. I need to be able to: - Open the project on an older laptop (Macbook Intel running Sequoia) - Navigate smoothly in viewport and wireframe mode - Clearly see and understand the full environment - Move freely through the space to take screenshots, establish camera angles and create visual shot references This file will be used as a planning and direction tool for a later rendering phase. ----------- PHASE 2 *** Rendering (Separate Scope, Optional) *** Goal: Produce high-quality PNG still renders and/or animation sequences based on camera directions developed in Phase 1. Phase 2 may include: Render-only scene optimization Lighting and material polish Camera refinement Final output in high resolution (Cycles or equivalent) Phase 2 will be scoped and scheduled after Phase 1 is complete. The same artist or studio may continue into Phase 2 if the collaboration is a good fit. TIMELINE & BUDGET - Phase 1 (This Job) Timeline: Approximately one week Budget: $1,500 USD (fixed) Phase 2 (Future Scope – for Reference) Estimated range: Still renders: $150–300 USD per image, depending on complexity Animation sequences: to be scoped separately (Phase 2 pricing will be discussed after Phase 1 delivery.) ------------- WHO THIS IS FOR: Senior-level 3D artists with Unreal ↔ Blender experience Architectural / interior visualization specialists Independent artists or small studios Fully comfortable communicating in English Able to work calmly and independently within a short, focused timeline (Dec 15-20) Please Include in Your Proposal: Relevant experience or portfolio examples Confirmation of availability for the Phase 1 timeline A brief note on how you would approach optimizing the Blender file for navigation and later rendering Clear communication, attention to detail, and thoughtful technical decisions are valued. Looking forward to hearing from you!
