Job Title: Remote E-commerce Manager for Shopify Online Store Organization: Sault Ste Marie Helping Hands (charity thrift store) Location: Remote (Global) Contract Type: Independent Contractor Compensation: ~$700 CAD per month, 4-Month Contract About Us Helping Hands is a charity thrift store with a mission to reduce landfill waste and support community members in need. We are launching a new online Shopify store to expand our impact, and we need a passionate and skilled leader to run it from the ground up. The Opportunity This is a key leadership role for a skilled E-commerce Manager to take full ownership of our new Shopify store. You will be the engine of our digital operations, driving the online sales that directly fund our charitable work. This is a 4-month contract, remote position where you will manage everything from digital marketing to operational coordination, working closely with a dedicated team of on-site volunteers in Sault Ste. Marie, Canada. You will also train our staff towards the end goal of being able to run the online store without assistance. Key Responsibilities Full Shopify Store Management: Oversee all aspects of the e-store, including product listings, visual merchandising, running promotions, and analyzing performance. Social Media Marketing: Develop and execute a content strategy for our 20,000-member Facebook group to drive community engagement, traffic, and sales. Email Marketing: Build our email marketing program from scratch using Klaviyo, creating campaigns to nurture subscribers and drive repeat purchases. Remote Volunteer Collaboration: Act as the primary remote partner and coordinator for our on-site volunteer fulfillment team. You will collaborate with volunteers in real-time, using communication tools (Slack/voice calls) and shared camera views of key operational areas (storage, packing, pickup) to answer questions, solve problems, and ensure the team has everything they need for a smooth and efficient workflow. Growth & Strategy: Analyze sales data and customer behavior to identify trends and growth opportunities, providing regular performance reports to the Project Manager. What We're Looking For Proven Experience: You must have a strong track record of successfully managing a Shopify e-commerce store. Marketing Expertise: Demonstrable skill in social media marketing (especially Facebook Groups) and email marketing (Klaviyo experience is a major asset). Excellent Coordinator: You need outstanding communication skills and experience managing or coordinating teams (remotely is a plus).
