A leading Caterpillar equipment dealer is hiring experienced Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanics for field work in Williams Lake & Prince George, BC.

Schedule: Monday to Friday
Shifts: 8-12 hour day shifts
Wage: $54.08/hr + applicable shift premiums

Required certification: Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
Specific PPE: Requires respirator mask (no beards at seal line)
Previous experience is required in a relatable field is required
You are legally permitted to work full-time in British Columbia

Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Caterpillar equipment in the field and/or shop
Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and component rebuilds
Provide on-site customer support with a professional and safety-first mindset
Maintain accurate service documentation and records
Collaborate with supervisors and support teams
Ensure all safety protocols and site-specific requirements are followed
Perform various related field duties as required
Qualifications
Red Seal Certification – Heavy Equipment Technician
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic
Field service experience preferred
Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and emissions systems
Experience with engine, transmission, and hydraulic testing is a strong asset
Experience with gas engines or power generation is an asset
You can provide a clean 5-year Driver’s Abstract
You will be fit-tested and able to wear a respirator (position requires the use of a respirator; proper facial fit (e.g., no beards at seal line) is necessary)
Ability to work independently in field or remote settings
Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment is a strong asset
Commitment to safety and excellent communication skills
Physical and Working Conditions
Work is performed in the field at client sites and/or at the Williams Lake facility
Exposure to various weather and site conditions
Physically demanding: lifting, kneeling, bending, confined space work
Travel to and from remote work sites may be required
Strict adherence to safety and operational procedures
Overtime or shift changes may occur per the collective agreement
Union Membership
This is a unionized role. Successful candidates will be required to join the applicable union upon hire, with dues automatically deducted from payroll.
Employment terms and conditions are governed by the collective agreement.
