Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Quarry Saw Operator to join our production team in Wiarton. This role is critical to our quarrying operations, involving the precision cutting of stone blocks using both industrial diamond wire saws and heavy-duty quarry chain saws.

The ideal candidate is a rugged, detail-oriented individual who enjoys working outdoors and has a "safety-first" mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Equipment Operation: Set up, calibrate, and operate diamond wire saws and quarry chain saws to extract and dimension stone blocks.
• Precision Cutting: Follow extraction plans to ensure maximum yield and high-quality cuts according to specifications.
• Maintenance: Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance on equipment, including checking wire tension, lubrication, and chain sharpness.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all Ministry of Labour (MOL) and OHSA regulations for surface mining and quarrying.
• Site Support: Assist with the movement of stone using heavy equipment (if licensed) and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Requirements

• Experience: Previous experience operating wire saws or chain saws in a quarry, masonry, or heavy construction environment is highly preferred.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round (all weather conditions) and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Technical Savvy: Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment and understanding stone grain/bedding.
• Reliability: Punctual and dependable and reliable . If required transportation to the Wiarton site will be arranged
• Certification: Surface Miner Common Core (770225) or similar provincial training is an asset (training may be provided for the right candidate).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.83-$32.49 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
