About
Our client is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join their busy team. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for establishing criteria for measuring quality control and overseeing the analysis and inspection of products and services. This role involves the comprehensive planning, direction, control, and assessment of all processes related to product quality assurance and control within the Organization. The manager ensures product safety and security by designing, developing, implementing, and updating control plans.

System and Program Management:
Direct the management of the FSSC 22000 Program.
Establish and maintain a system for managing product specifications originating from both customers and the organization.
Develop and submit a policy manual to senior management for approval, detailing the processes that constitute the Food Safety System and their interrelationships.

Responsibilities
System and Program Management:

Quality Control and Compliance:
Implement necessary controls to verify that raw material suppliers comply with specifications.
Manage the process of analyzing products chemically and microbiologically.
Ensure effective process control for products to safeguard the integrity of goods shipped to the customer.
Ensure that processes related to product safety/quality communication with customers, suppliers, authorities, or corporate functions are effectively maintained.
Confirm that documents for the Quality Assurance System are developed, implemented, and continually improved.
Uphold conditions of order, cleanliness, safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices within their areas of responsibility and the broader Organization.
Verify that all forms, records, and logs are complete, legible, and accurate.
Manage the Coordination of HACCP and its prerequisites.
Issue Resolution and Improvement:
Coordinate the investigation process for customer complaints.
Initiate corrective/preventive action processes when appropriate, ensuring these actions are executed and verified for effectiveness within the quality system's committed timeframe.
Document and track continuous improvement projects related to the quality system.
Utilize data derived from measurement and analysis processes to make decisions impacting product quality.
Develop and revise Operating Procedures, Policies, Forms, Work Instructions, and job descriptions as required.
Personnel and Training:
Conduct regular performance assessments of the quality department staff.
Engage in training processes as an instructor on all quality-related matters.
Participate in assessing training needs for subordinate staff through performance evaluation and certification processes.
Ensure departmental staff adhere to company health and safety rules, existing program procedures, and policies.
Organize and participate in training for their staff.
Reporting and Collaboration:
Keep senior management regularly informed on the performance and any needed improvements of the Food Safety System.
Ensure relevant departmental data is available promptly for required analysis.
Participate in strategic planning when invited.
Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring adequate resources are allocated for their success.
Take part in internal audits.
Provide support to senior management during Management Reviews.
Arrange necessary meetings to review daily operational matters.
Foster a productive working environment within the department to aid in achieving company objectives.
Act in alignment with the Organization's Quality Policy and Values in all actions and decision-making.
Offer support to other departments as needed and undertake additional tasks required by Business or Management.
Qualifications
Education:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or a closely related field is required.
Experience:
A minimum of three years of prior professional experience in quality control or the specific job sector is mandatory.
