Job Description: Establish objectives for the company and formulate or approve policies and programs. Evaluate cost and quality of goods or services. Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials. Co-ordinate the work of regions, divisions or departments. Review and process claims against suppliers. DMN’s. Represent the company or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the company in negotiations or other official functions. Interview, hire and oversee training of staff. Plan human resource requirements in conjunction with other departmental managers. Develop and implement policies, standard and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department, service and laboratory. Assign, co-ordinate and review the technical work of the department or project teams. Supervise technicians, technologists, Quality Engineers, etc. Establish and conduct quality control programs, operating procedures and control of raw materials, chemical intermediates or final products. Establish and conduct quality control programs, operating procedures and control strategies to ensure consistency and adherence to standards for raw materials, products and waste products or emissions. Communicate Quality Objectives to the organization and report status on a regular basis. Maintain and Improve Quality Management System. Ensure IATF 16949 and Customer Specific requirements are being met. Conduct Quality System audits as required to IATF 16949 standard. Co-ordinate resolution of all Customer Rejections and Corrective Action follow-up/completion. Approve Supplier PPAP’s for new parts/engineering changes. Assign program responsibilities to Quality Engineering staff and other Quality tasks as required. Ensure completion of Quality documentation for the Management review and monthly reporting. Key Measurables. Write technical reports. Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Secondary Duties: Represent Company at customer place of business on quality issues/concerns. Other duties as required. Employment Qualifications: Post-secondary education or equivalent experience is required.
