You will be working for a US-based technology company leading the development of an Ecommerce and other web platforms that supports independent retailers in North America as they adopt and embrace new components of their digital marketing solutions. We build and maintain thousands of retailer websites that must run reliably, efficiently, and effectively. This position is responsible for working with software developers to ensure they are meeting sprint goals and communicating to the team and management the results. You will gather details on their project requirements and also manage internal timelines and deliverables for these projects and be the client liaison for communications of project status
The Project Manager will effectively deliver business results by successfully managing on-time, on-budget delivery of
key technical project milestones. This position will work across multiple stakeholders and departments to understand
and define project requirements and success measurements. This position will foster a culture of collaboration,
communication, and transparency while successfully delivering complex projects.
This role will primarily manage technical projects across the IT and digital business units using Agile
development processes. An understanding of, and practical usage of, Agile methodologies will be core to this position’s
success, even though the core responsibilities of the position will align with the role of a Project Manager (i.e. not a
Scrum Master). You’ll need to provide diplomatic and timely communication in an agile work environment with
iterative planning and delivery cycles.
This role is responsible for helping teams achieve their goals, work strategically together, and remain as adaptable as
possible in a fun, ever-changing environment. Consistently and diligently looking for ways to optimize, while elevating
awareness of risks and escalating blockers, to keep teams moving and ensure leadership is always aware of status. The
projects will be a mix of sunsetting legacy capabilities, building new service
offerings, and migrating customers and functionality from legacy to modern solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage multiple complex technical projects specifically within the digital and information technology realm.
- Drive project-related change management, as needed, for project stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g. sprint planning, demos, Product Owner meetings) as needed, tracking business
priorities from requirements till closure along with KPI reporting/dashboards, partner across different teams for hand offs
that other departments need to complete. - Deliver value by leading project teams and by driving effective collaboration with team members, stakeholders, and other
Project Managers.- Facilitate artifact meetings, ensuring expectations are met and meetings are productive and efficient.
- Aid in the coordination of other vital team meetings and communications.
- Support the definition of workflows and team processes, including aiding in any visual or documentation methods.
- Coordinate meetings between various teams or people to aid in the progression of projects or work tasks, including Managers, Product Owners, or Executives.
- Champion communication and coordination of urgent matters such as fires between teams or people, including participating in any postmortem activities.
- Manage regular follow ups with applicable project members to ensure timely and scoped progression.
- Spearhead project coordination and communication, including gathering applicable team members, monitoring progress, creating milestones, and communicating updates.
- Support projects through applicable project lifecycles, such as vision development, scope refinement, and timeline and risk management; apply project management tools/techniques.
- Anticipate the needs, risks, and challenges of projects and communicate them effectively while searching for efficient solutions.
- Coordinate meetings with stakeholders to define project vision and document. Coordinate fires such as service outages and reach out to stakeholders to alert them with applicable information.
- Proactively identify risks and blockers on projects or plans. Seek input from appropriate stakeholders.
- Consistently search for ways to optimize/improve, including via workflows, tool usage, or tracking.
- Have a solution-based mindset when approaching issues, tasks, or projects, developing creative and practical solutions
based on evaluation of multiple factors.
- 4+ years’ experience working as a project manager with experience leading large and complex cross-functional
projects in a technology company. - Demonstrated experience managing a complex digital or technical project from inception (requirements
gathering) through launch and stabilization. - Must have worked closely with developers, QA, product managers and other technical teams to get high-
quality products and features through the project lifecycle (build, test, and release on time). - Agile experience, including Scrum and Kanban.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate, including enforcing active communication and taking
ownership. - Project management experience, including familiarity with project lifecycles, planning and development.
- High level of English proficiency
- Ability to work well under pressure with multiple projects
- Scrum/life-cycle process management duties including daily team check-ins/stand-ups and sprint rituals
- Preparing weekly updates on progress for key stakeholders and business owners
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Preferred knowledge of Microsoft Teams and Monday.com
- Experience working with programming languages is a plus
