  • Job Summary
  • The Project Manager is responsible for developing and strengthening relationships to Downs Construction. They are also responsible for ensuring a steady flow of work claims, provide estimates on jobs, and manage the jobs from start to finish. These duties could include but are not limited to: creating job files, providing timely updates to all stakeholders, estimating costs, and maintaining accurate and up to date information on active files, all while providing excellent customer service to our clients.
  • Responsibilities
  • Attending new claims and explaining the restoration process to the client
  • Completing on-site measurements and estimates
  • Delivering exceptional customer service to insurance stakeholders, homeowners and property managers
  • Being proactive in resolving customer service issues
  • Liaising with appropriate departments and sub-trades to ensure that work is completed on time, on budget and meets Downs Construction quality standards
  • Liaising with appropriate departments, sub-trades, homeowners and adjusters on the status of work
  • Inspecting progress and work quality throughout the project lifespan
  • Working with admins and office staff to ensure all administrative aspects of the jobs are performed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Building and maintaining relationships by meeting adjusters on jobs, providing timely and accurate estimates and billings
  • Preparing accurate job costing and estimating, ensuring target margins are met
  • Ensuring all relevant safety standards are followed per Downs Construction and WorkSafeBC requirements.
  • Requirements
  • Adaptable to sudden changes.
  • Valid British Columbia driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Clear criminal background relevant to the scope of work
  • Demonstrated excellence in delivering outstanding customer service
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and mobile technology
  • Strong business development acumen and sound financial management skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Construction and/or restoration experience.
  • Understanding of insurance claims and property management as they relate to restoration.
  • Good communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal).
  • Experience with Encircle is an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience with Xactimate is an asset.
  • Being punctual and having an eagerness to learn is essential to the role.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and within a team to drive successful projects.

  • Compensation
  • Salary: $70,000 - $120,000 per year (based on experience). Please note that this salary is based on a mix of base salary and commission.
