- Job Description
- As the Program Management Recruitment Lead for Canada at AECOM, you will play a pivotal role in designing, leading, and overseeing recruitment strategies that support Canada’s major programs and infrastructure initiatives. This role will ensure AECOM attracts, hires, and retains exceptional program management talent across multiple high-impact projects, while aligning with our global strategic recruitment vision. Over time, this role is expected to grow to include working with and oversight of our US major programs as well.
- You will partner closely with TA Leadership, Program Management, and Business Leaders to execute an integrated recruitment and talent engagement strategy that strengthens our capability to deliver on Canada’s growing portfolio of programs.
- This position requires a strategic and hands-on leader who can navigate complex program structures, build relationships across business lines, and ensure a seamless recruitment experience that reflects AECOM’s commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- • Lead end-to-end recruitment oversight for all major Program Management hiring efforts in Canada, ensuring alignment with business priorities and upcoming program demands.
- • Design and execute a recruitment strategy that supports key Canadian programs and major infrastructure initiatives. Develop and implement targeted recruitment plans to attract top technical and professional talent across engineering, construction, project management and support disciplines.
- • Partner with Program Management and TA Leadership to forecast hiring needs, define role requirements, and build targeted sourcing plans for critical roles. Act as a strategic advisor to program leaders and hiring managers, providing market insights, data driven recommendations and guidance on hiring decisions.
- • Manage and mentor a team of recruiters (direct or matrixed) supporting program-based recruitment across regions, ensuring consistent quality and service delivery.
- • Collaborate with HR and business leaders to strengthen internal mobility pathways, succession planning, international mobility, equitable offers, seamless onboarding and leadership pipeline development for program management roles.
- • Monitor and report on recruitment performance metrics, including time-to-fill, quality of hire, and candidate experience, leveraging data to drive continuous improvement. Provide regular updates to leadership on hiring progress, talent pipeline and workforce readiness.
- • Ensure compliance with AECOM’s global policies, Canadian employment regulations, and client-specific contractual requirements.
- • Act as a brand ambassador representing AECOM’s mission and reputation as an employer of choice in the engineering and infrastructure sectors.
- Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or workforce planning, ideally within the A/E/C or infrastructure industries. Proven success leading program-based or project-based recruitment efforts and workforce planning at a regional or national scale.
- • Proficient with application tracking system (ATS) and AI-driven recruitment tools with the ability to leverage technology to optimize sourcing, screening and selection processes.
Preferred Qualification
- • Experience managing recruitment for large-scale programs with multiple stakeholders, timelines, and funding structures.
- • Strong understanding of Canada’s labor market and familiarity with federal and provincial employment regulations.
- • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across complex, matrixed organizations.
- • Strong analytical capability with experience leveraging recruitment metrics and market intelligence to guide strategy.
- • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with executive presence and business acumen.
- • Strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and can balance operational execution with long-term planning.
- • Flexibility to travel to support multiple project sites as needed.
