- The Opportunity
- The Product Owner role involves leading discovery, defining and prioritizing requirements, and maintaining a clear, actionable backlog. The position collaborates closely with customers and development teams to refine features and support Agile delivery. Ongoing improvement, user feedback, and release readiness are central to ensuring a high-quality product experience.
- This is an onsite position working out of our Edmonton office Monday through Friday.
- What you Will do
- Product Owner for the Catalis Public Works (CMMS) product modules, including Work Orders, Infrastructure Management, Inventory Management, Request Management, and GIS Webmap.
- Manage, with minimal supervision, the product evolution to align with the strategic roadmap and key market inputs from customers, support, client success and sales.
- Lead feature discovery from problem definition through delivery and iteration.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, customers, and development teams to define, prioritize, and refine product features.
- Manage and maintain the product backlog, writing clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance
- criteria.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives.
- Drive continuous product improvement by gathering feedback, managing enhancements, and resolving defects to improve user satisfaction.
- Act as the bridge between business and technology, translating business needs into clear, actionable work for development teams.
- Contribute to user acceptance testing, validation, and release readiness to ensure high-quality product delivery.
- Monitor post-release feedback and feature adoption to inform ongoing improvements.
- Requirements
- What you will need to succeed
- Work experience or a Bachelor’s degree that built skills in analysis, communications and business.
- Strong interest in technology and its potential to solve real-world municipal challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and clarity.
- Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Ability to think in terms of user problems, workflows, and outcomes, not just features.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn and grow.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and receive feedback.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn product tools such as Jira, Confluence, Productboard, and Figma.
- Nice to Have
- Exposure to Agile or Scrum development environments.
- Experience working with municipal or local government software.
