About the Role

PubNub is looking for an experienced Product Manager to lead the strategy, evolution, and success of our SDKs—core components that power real-time experiences across mobile, web, and server platforms. As a critical member of the Product team, you will ensure that developers across industries have best-in-class tools and frameworks to build on PubNub with ease, speed, and confidence. Experience with AI platforms and models is highly desired. As AI capabilities rapidly become embedded into real-time applications—from virtual assistants and smart bots to live data analysis and intelligent content moderation—you will help shape the evolution of SDKs, leveraging AI.

Responsibilities

• Drive Developer Success: Understand how developers integrate PubNub SDKs into their applications across Android, iOS, Web, Unity, and server-side environments. Identify pain points and opportunities to improve the developer experience.
• Define SDK & AI-Ready Strategy: Own and evolve the SDK portfolio with an eye toward AI integration. Prioritize support for emerging platforms and tools, optimize for performance and usability, and ensure SDKs are ready for evolving AI-driven workflows.
• Research & Requirements Gathering: Engage with customers, prospects, developer advocates, and internal teams to gather feedback. Translate these insights into clear and actionable product requirements.
• Execute with Engineering: Act as product owner with agile teams to develop, test, and ship new SDK features and improvements. Ensure SDKs are reliable, well-documented, and easy to adopt—especially when AI-powered features, MCP etc. are a part of the experience.
• Cross-functional Launches: Work with Developer Relations, Product Marketing, Sales Engineering, and Support to ensure SDK releases are well-positioned in the market and understood by users.
• Analytics & Iteration: Define success metrics for SDK usage and adoption. Monitor performance and engagement, and adjust the roadmap accordingly to improve impact.

Qualifications

• 3+ Years of Product Management Experience: Ideally with a technical or engineering background, and direct ownership of SDKs, libraries, or developer tooling.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or relevant areas. 
• AI Familiarity: Experience with integrating or building SDKs for AI/ML applications—such as generative AI, model hosting, edge inference, or real-time AI decisioning—is highly desirable.
• Developer Empathy: You understand what makes SDKs successful and enjoyable to use, and you’re passionate about improving developer workflows.
• Agile Experience: Familiarity with agile/scrum development environments and working closely with engineering teams.
• Platform Versatility: Comfort across multiple languages (JavaScript, Swift, Kotlin, Java, C#, Python, etc.) and environments.
• Collaborative Mindset: You thrive in cross-functional teams and are excited to partner with Developer Experience, UX, QA, and Support.
• Relentless Drive: You love seeing your SDKs in action and continuously push to deliver impact for developers and users.
• Excellent Communication Skills: From inspiring developers and technical teams to aligning stakeholders on strategy, you communicate clearly and persuasively.
• Occasional Travel Required
