Writing press releases and sending pitches to media and journalists. This isn’t just a press release role—it’s about creating compelling narratives that inspire media outlets, engage communities, and position our plant nursery as a national leader in native plants and environmental stewardship. Key Responsibilities Craft authentic, story-driven press releases, features, and media pitches that resonate with journalists and editors. Use Cision One to build and maintain media lists, distribute campaigns, and monitor coverage. Develop human-interest angles around our nursery's history, heritage, and environmental mission to secure earned media. Write thought-leadership pieces, op-eds, and feature stories showcasing our company's expertise. Build and nurture relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers in gardening, sustainability, lifestyle, and business media. Qualifications Proven experience as a journalist, editor, or PR storyteller with published work in reputable outlets. Hands-on expertise with Cision One or similar PR/media platforms. Exceptional writing skills—able to seamlessly shift from press release to narrative feature. Strong understanding of what makes a story newsworthy and how to pitch it effectively. Passion for gardening, sustainability, or environmental topics is a strong plus. Creative, proactive, and deadline-driven.
