About
As a Remote Platform Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain the foundational systems and services that empower development teams to deploy, scale, and manage applications efficiently. You will contribute to the stability, performance, and security of cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tooling.
This role is critical for enabling engineering velocity while ensuring reliability and compliance across environments. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with DevOps, SREs, developers, and security teams to provide a seamless platform experience from local development to production deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for cloud and hybrid environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
Build and manage internal developer platforms, CI/CD systems, service meshes, and deployment workflows
Develop and maintain container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, ECS, Nomad)
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and monitoring using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and FluxCD
Collaborate with software engineering teams to provide self-service capabilities and improve delivery velocity
Monitor and improve platform availability, performance, and security through observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
Enforce platform standards and ensure consistency across environments using policy-as-code and governance tools
Contribute to incident response processes and postmortems, implementing long-term reliability improvements
Evaluate and integrate new technologies to continuously improve the developer experience and platform capabilities
Document system architecture, processes, and best practices for internal teams
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
2 years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles
Strong expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation)
Deep understanding of Linux systems, containerization (Docker), and Kubernetes
Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, Go, Bash, etc.)
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, ArgoCD, etc.)
Experience implementing monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.
