Join our team. #CloroxIsThePlace Your role at Clorox: The Plant EIC Engineer is a key technical leader at our Brita Brampton facility, responsible for all Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EIC) functions. This role drives process improvements, leads capital and expense projects, and owns IT/OT and MES connectivity across the site. The position reports to the Plant Engineering & Maintenance Leader and plays a critical part in enabling automation, digital transformation, and operational efficiency. In this role, you will: Capital Projects & Process Improvements Lead CAPEX projects that support safety, quality, cost savings, controls, and IT/MES upgrades. Lead 2–3 projects simultaneously—ensuring timelines, scope, and budgets are met. Apply Clorox Capital Project Management best practices using SAP S4 Hana. Prepare and review AFEs, ensuring clear business justification and alignment with plant priorities. Support packaging line improvements to increase efficiency and throughput, using tools such as Sage Clarity, Aveva MES, LEDS, and Power BI. Automation, Controls & Technical Support Provide hands-on technical support for automation, packaging, maintenance, and operations. Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred) and robotic systems to enhance reliability and productivity. Review and improve electrical and controls PMs, ensuring accuracy and standardization. Lead the EIC 5-Year Plan and ensure alignment with broader capital strategies. Ensure all engineering work meets Clorox standards, OEM requirements, and regulatory/safety policies. IT/OT & Network Ownership Serve as the plant’s primary resource for IT/OT network operations and digital manufacturing systems. Lead all aspects of reliability, security, and performance of the LAN, business network, and manufacturing IT/OT infrastructure. Manage system upgrades, device monitoring, cybersecurity controls, backups, and audits for data integrity. Support key production systems (badge card access, reporting databases, MES) and lead technology life-cycle planning. Documentation, Standards & Governance Own and maintain all plant electrical drawings and user documentation. Establish and maintain a consistent update and revision schedule. Support standardization of equipment and controls; acquire required approvals through the Platform Team as needed. Ensure clear communication with OEMs regarding major equipment or technology decisions. Produce standardized documentation for Training, Quality, Production, and Engineering. Collaboration, Leadership & Continuous Improvement Coordinate internal teams and external partners to complete project work. Manage vendors and contractors, ensuring quality and alignment to Clorox standards. Mentor plant personnel on EIC topics, providing governance, problem solving guidance, and technical leadership. Participate in cross-plant Communities of Practice for knowledge sharing and alignment on EIC tools and standards. Identify and implement productivity, cost savings, and operational improvement opportunities. What we look for: Post-secondary education in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related Technologist program. 2–5 years of experience in the role in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to EIC, automation, or controls engineering. Minimum 2 years of Project Management experience, with ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously. Familiarity with controls systems, IT/OT networks, Allen-Bradley PLCs, CAD tools, Excel, Outlook, and SAP S4 (assets). Strong analytical and problem solving skills; highly organized and thorough.
