  • Job Description
  • The Planner, Shoppers Drug Mart plays a pivotal role in driving sales performance and optimizing inventory for beauty products at the retailor. This involves comprehensive sales planning, in-depth performance analysis, and accurate forecasting, all while ensuring optimal stock levels through strategic inventory and order management. The role demands strong cross-functional collaboration with merchandising, marketing, and operations teams to align business goals, manage new product introductions, and support promotional activities, further requiring adept system and data management, and clear communication with the sales force.
  • PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Inventory Management
  • Inventory management, achieve weekly, monthly annual shipping and return budget
  • Manage all aspects of inventory, sell in and responsible for allocation by door by sku for all newness and seasonal programs
  • Daily order Management which includes review and record of any new purchase orders, communicate any changes required dates/prices/allocations to retailer planner and any actions to be taken by Customer service.
  • Launch orders: Follow up with planning team to ensure inventory is in the warehouse and available to ship for said retailers managing cuts and rebooks based on appropriate timing/availability
  • Monitor & Track for all pillars & divisions- Newness.core shipments and returns and provide up to date forecasts to National Account Director/Admin & Finance
  • Allocations – all launch orders, & no charge promotional orders to be written based on agreed philosophy with National Account Director/Merchandising Director - and processed. Shoppers-2 po’s developed for each launch po. PO to SDM-By door allocation with summary by sku along with W5 which describes each sku with return details that are part of the launch. PO to Customer service-which is a different form than SDM,
  • SDM Fragrance Launches-Write store po’s for both SDM & Customer service (different po’s) along with tester po’s and summarize for the field. Follow up with the SDM DC team to place DC launch quantity for new DC skus.
  • Write Quarterly tester allocation as requested by door by AE by account.
  • Write tester orders by door for Accuristix recovered testers
  • Monitor daily cut reports and work with retailers to replace the cut $.
  • Provide a quarterly DC sku forecast in order to achieve our shipping targets and maximize store sales.
  • Forecast return from planograms/on hands for future launches and manage the sell down appropriately
  • Manage new store openings from opening order to testers, opening event, to TOA shipped
  • Manage all store communications by submitting W5 in time for each program
  • Manage outpost skus/programs, including but not limited to top picks and till point, from opening order & no cost arrive in store on time, monitor sell through and replenish opportunities
  • Retailer Responsibilities
  • Key point of contact between Retailer buyers, planners B&M and E-retail.
  • SDM: 2 Merchants, 2 Ass’t Merchants, 1 E-retail manager, 1 Planogram Manager, 2 planners DC & E-retail, 1 Business Process Specialist, 1 national Beauty Boutique Manager, 1 new store opening etc.
  • Build strong relationship with each retailer point of contact to build a seamless partnership with Dior
  • Weekly Sales Forecasting to be provided following the animation/promotional activities as outlined by the retailers and the national account director and field negotiated events
  • Buying Plan development and management for Retailers-seasonally provide by sku detailed buying plans NPLT to each retailer all divisions and update with changes as they occur and communicate back to retailer including pricing, sku characteristics, etc,
  • New/Discontinued SKU management – set up new skus in retailer systems including seasonal timeframe for return
  • Negotiate returns by sku based on National Account Director feedback
  • Seasonal Marketing plans-manage TOA calendar based on seasonal strategies, provide to marketing, follow up with marketing, write all by store, submit all to customer service, follow up on shipping
  • Maintain seasonal promotional calendar and be able to speak and plan for promotional shifts by retailer and Dior
  • Ensure marketing sends appropriate comps for social/print advertising
  • Seasonally complete CWR for visual weeks and/or any in store activations as negotiated with retailer
  • Partner with merchandising to ensure planogram productive is optimised
  • Forecasting-Provide marketing opening order recommendations for all new skus and seasonal items, including SDM DC replenishment
  • Service and communication with Sales Force
  • Communication to field on all launches, marketing, merchandising, shipping details for SDM every Friday
  • Field – answer any shipping, marketing retailer related questions
  • Maintain all summaries of the following: Space and location including Beauty merchandising designation, opening dates, promotional changes, event results etc.
  • Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience of retail planning & inventory management. Previously managed Shoppers Drug Mart experience preferred
  • Proven track record of managing high volume business and 1000+ door count
  • Independent with a high level of ownership, accountability and initiative
  • Excellent analytical skill with strong business acumen
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively communicate and work with internal team and external team
  • Capability to manage workload within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, able to handle multiple tasks/priorities to meet tight deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially MS excel, including but not limited to pivot tables, lookup functions, etc.

  • While the published salary range is a good faith reflection of the targeted salary level for the position, LVMH Inc. reserves the right to pay outside of the published range of $75,000-$95,000.
