  • Position Summary
  • The People Operations Specialist reports to the Senior People Operations Manager, supports day-to-day HR operations for a growing ABA and technology organization and ensures accurate, timely, and compliant administration of core people processes. This role manages employee onboarding and offboarding, HRIS data integrity and reporting (Rippling), benefits administration, Colorado and New Mexico compliance requirements, workers’ compensation coordination, and payroll/timekeeping support.
  • This position serves as a primary point of contact for employees and leaders, delivering responsive, employee-focused support while helping maintain efficient and compliant people operations across clinical and operational teams.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Lifecycle & HR Operations
  • Coordinate end-to-end employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, status changes, leave administration, and offboarding
  • Partner with Recruiting, Clinical Leadership, and Training teams to ensure smooth new hire onboarding and orientation
  • Prepare and process job changes, compensation updates, and employment status changes
  • Support separation processes including terminations and final pay compliance
  • HRIS & Data Management
  • Maintain accurate employee records, workflows, and documentation in Rippling (HRIS)
  • Run and analyze HR reports and workforce metrics (headcount, turnover, attendance, PTO, credential tracking)
  • Audit HR data regularly to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Support system configuration and process improvements
  • Benefits & Leave Administration
  • Administer benefits enrollments, qualifying life event changes, and open enrollment processes
  • Serve as liaison with benefit carriers and brokers
  • Support FMLA Tracking and Colorado FAMLI leave tracking and coordination with other leave programs
  • Administer paid sick leave and state/local leave requirements
  • Assist with ACA tracking and reporting
  • Payroll & Timekeeping Support
  • Support payroll processing activities including timekeeping audits and corrections
  • Review time and attendance records for accuracy and policy compliance
  • Partner with Payroll on pay adjustments, reimbursements, and earnings codes
  • Assist with multi-rate and clinical pay structure tracking
  • Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure completion and tracking of required compliance documentation (I-9, background checks, new hire reporting)
  • Coordinate background screening and re-screening requirements for clinical staff
  • Manage workers’ compensation claims and related documentation
  • Support HR and payroll audits
  • Help maintain compliance with Colorado, New Mexico and federal wage and hour requirements
  • Support job description and wage band documentation aligned with pay transparency practices
  • Employee & Manager Support
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, benefits, policies, and systems
  • Support performance process administration and documentation tracking
  • Provide Tier 1 employee and manager HR support and guidance
  • Escalate employee relations matters as appropriate
  • Qualifications
  • Education & Experience
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of HR coordination, people operations, or HR support experience
  • Experience working in an organization with 100+ employees preferred
  • Experience supporting multi-site or healthcare/clinical organizations preferred
  • Experience with HRIS platforms required (Rippling strongly preferred)
  • Knowledge & Skills
  • Working knowledge of onboarding, benefits, leave, and HR compliance processes
  • Familiarity with New Mexico and Colorado employment requirements (paid sick leave, FMLA, FAMLI, wage & hour basics)
  • Experience supporting payroll and timekeeping administration
  • Understanding of ACA and workers’ compensation processes
  • Strong data accuracy and reporting skills
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Process-improvement mindset with strong customer service approach
  • We have determined a salary range for this position that takes into account several factors including experience, knowledge, education, skills, and abilities. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline and the exact salary will be determined based on the individual’s qualifications and experience, with consideration given to the factors listed above. All full-time employee benefits include health benefits, 401(k) plan, and PTO per year.

  • $70,000—$80,000 USD
