Do you love bringing people together, planning fun events, and making a real difference in your community? The Pembina Valley Humane Society (PVHS) is looking for an enthusiastic, community-minded individual to join our Board of Directors as a Fundraising Co-Chair!
This volunteer role plays a huge part in helping animals in need — while also building strong community relationships, inspiring local involvement, and creating memorable experiences that bring people and pets together.
Term: 2 years
Time Commitment: 10–15 hours per month (a little more around big events)
Compensation: Volunteer position
Start Date: Present to end of January

What You’ll Do
As Fundraising Co-Chair, you’ll work closely with the Fundraising Chair and a dedicated team of volunteers to bring PVHS fundraising events and campaigns to life. You’ll collaborate, brainstorm, organize, and celebrate wins together — all while helping animals in your community.
You’ll get to:
- Help shape PVHS’s annual fundraising goals
- Plan and coordinate exciting events and community campaigns
- Build, support, and encourage a fantastic volunteer committee
- Lead and participate in fun, productive meetings
- Connect with sponsors, local businesses, and community partners
- Explore and pitch creative new fundraising event ideas
- Keep event details and committee work organized
- Represent PVHS positively at public and fundraising events
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys connecting with people, loves organizing events, and thrives in a team environment full of energy and purpose.
What You Bring
- Friendly, positive communication skills
- Confidence in delegating tasks and motivating volunteers
- Good organizational and event-planning instincts
- Detail-oriented approach
- Comfort leading discussions and recapping next steps
- Willingness to work with spreadsheets and keep information organized
- A heart for animals and a passion for community-building
- Openness to learning, brainstorming, and getting creative
No previous fundraising experience is required — enthusiasm and teamwork go a long way!
Team & Board Expectations
- Attend monthly board meetings (second Monday of each month)
- Communicate with the board regularly on committee activities
- Attend the AGM in March
- Lead and participate in PVHS fundraising events throughout the year
- Represent PVHS with kindness, enthusiasm, and professionalism
