Position Overview: Have experience working with Canadian Payroll?? We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the accurate processing of payroll, verifying hours for various positions, preparing commissions, and assisting with Canadian tax requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of payroll processes. Key Responsibilities: Verification of Hours: Review and verify employee hours punched in the timekeeping system for accuracy. Ensure that all hours worked are properly recorded for various positions within the organization. Commission Preparation: Calculate and prepare commission payments for eligible employees based on sales and performance metrics. Enter commission data accurately into the payroll software. Payroll Processing: Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll on a bi-weekly/monthly basis. Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable labor laws. Assistance with Canadian Taxes: Help employees understand their tax obligations and deductions. Prepare necessary documentation for tax reporting and compliance, including T4 slips and other relevant forms. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, including employee files and payroll reports. Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive payroll information. Communication: Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll, commissions, and tax-related questions. Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues.
