Operations Officer III - Trade Settlements and Compliance
Summary
The successful candidate will join the Segregation, Trade Input and Settlements team as an Operations Officer III, playing a crucial, challenging, and rewarding role in the trade lifecycle. This position involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, primarily focused on Trade Settlements, Segregation Trade, Inputs, and Share Movements. This is a hybrid role based in Toronto or Markham, ON, starting with two in-office days and moving to four in-office days in November. It offers a competitive starting pay rate of $25.20/hr for a one-year duration with strong potential for extension and conversion based on performance and business needs.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for a broad range of operational support, general, and specialized transactions, ensuring speed and accuracy in all deliverables. Key duties include:
Trade Settlements and Segregation: Execute and manage trade settlements and share movements, ensuring all processes align with internal policies and regulatory standards.
Compliance and Reporting: Help ensure strict compliance with audit requirements based on CIRO regulations. This includes creating necessary reports and internal bookkeeping.
Depository Review and Communication: Proactively review depository records and communicate with relevant parties, including brokers and traders, to request extensions on deliveries, inquire about share receipts, and settle trades in a timely manner.
Operational Support: Provide a broad range of operational support, perform specialized processing activities, and respond to correspondence from traders and other internal partners.
Partner Engagement: Maintain timely and professional communication with all internal partners, demonstrating a clear understanding of their needs, products, and processes.
Qualifications
MUST HAVE:
1. Previous experience in the trade lifecycle (2-5 years)
2. Strong written & verbal communication skills
3. Intermediate Excel Skills (vlookups)
4. Speed & accuracy of deliverables
NICE TO HAVE:
1. Banking experience – 1 year
2. Prior experience using depositaries – CDS/DTC
