  • Position Highlights
  • Operational Technology Technician
  • Location: Calgary, with travel to any office
  • Full time Permanent
  • Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm. Other hours may be required

  • Primary Focus
  • Install, configure, and maintain industrial control systems (PLCs, SCDA, HMIs)
  • Troubleshoot and optimize OT networks and field devices
  • Ensure secure and reliable communication between OT and IT systems
  • Support OT cybersecurity initiatives and compliance (e.g., ISA/IEC 62443)
  • Maintain documentation of OT systems, including network diagrams and configurations
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for end-user devices, software, and network issues
  • Manage Active Directory, user accounts, and group policies
  • Support Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, and other enterprise applications
  • Assist with hardware deployment, imaging, and lifecycle management
  • Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure including switches, firewalls, and wireless networks
  • Skills and Experience Required
  • Diploma or degree in Computer Engineering, Industrial automation, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a combined OT/IT support role
  • Strong understanding of industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC, UA, Ethernet/IT)
  • Experience with PLC’s (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), SCADA, and HMI Platforms
  • Proficiency in Windows server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 administration
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+
  • Cisco CCNA or equivalent
  • Microsoft Certified: Moder Desktop Administrator Associate
  • ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Fundamentals Specialist
  • Working Conditions
  • The co-worker will be supplied with a mobile device to ensure our clients always have access to support.
  • A fleet truck will be supplied for travel to client sites.
  • This position may require a successful candidate to stay in client-provided camps or hotels at times.
  • The candidate may have to travel extensively.
  • Camps supplied by the client have a zero-tolerance policy regarding drugs and alcohol (dry camps)
  • This position requires the successful candidate to be physically capable of lifting up to 70 lbs.
  • The successful candidate must be capable of operating a motor vehicle and have a clean driver’s abstract
  • Schedule will vary depending on location being supported
  • Unscheduled or after-hours support may occasionally be required
  • The successful candidate must comply with the safety standards of ESW and/or its clients

  • Client Project Managers and/or Business Analysts - These individuals may provide direction regarding ongoing project-related activities
  • Clients in the field - Your daily contact will be with the individuals working at the client's field sites
