About Us: Hack Your Course is North America’s premier IB & AP tutoring institute. We pair students with expert tutors who double as mentors, delivering depth, rigor, and encouragement that extend beyond a single lesson.

Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in French Language, French Literature, or French Studies is a mandatory prerequisite. Applicants with degrees in unrelated fields (e.g., general education without a French focus, sociology, etc.) will not be considered for this role.

Language Proficiency Requirement: To effectively guide students through the complex nuances of IB French A (Literature & Language), native or native-level proficiency is strictly required. We are seeking educators who possess the natural intuition for phrasing, tone, cultural nuance, and idiom that allows them to model authentic French at the highest academic level.

In addition to the degree and proficiency requirements, candidates must meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Possess an IB-accredited teaching certification and have experience teaching IB French A (Literature or Language & Literature) or IB French B (HL).
• Hold a valid provincial teaching certificate with direct experience in the IB French curriculum (either as a former IB student or through substantial IB teaching/tutoring roles).
• Be a recent university graduate who was an IB Diploma student with a high score (7) in French HL and has ample tutoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver exceptional one-on-one IB & AP French lessons.
• Design and adapt customized lesson plans and practice materials to target each student’s unique needs (spanning French A and French B curriculums).
• Guide students through high-stakes assessments, specifically the Individual Oral (IO), Extended Essays (EEs) in French, and exam-style practice (Paper 1 Textual Analysis & Paper 2).
• Mentor students on critical thinking, literary analysis, advanced grammar, and exam strategies.
• Monitor and report on student progress, communicating regularly with the HYC team and families.
• Maintain accurate and timely session reports in our tutoring portal.
• Participate in occasional team meetings and professional development workshops.
