Music-Based Support Worker (Piano)
We are seeking a patient, creative music practitioner with strong piano skills to support two neurodivergent children (ages 4 and 7). Piano is used as a music-based support tool to encourage engagement, emotional regulation, and development in a playful, child-led environment.
Responsibilities
- Use piano and music activities to support focus, emotional regulation, and engagement
- Teach music concepts in a flexible, play-based way adapted to each child
- Adjust sessions based on mood, energy, and sensory needs
- Create a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment
- Share observations with caregivers to support consistency
Qualifications
- Strong piano skills with the ability to teach and guide learning
- Experience working with children (education, camps, recreation, support roles)
- Patient, adaptable, and responsive to children’s needs
Preferred
- Background in music therapy or music education (certification welcome but not required)
- Experience supporting autistic or neurodivergent children
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00-$33.41 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
Work Location: In person
