  • The work location is in Nunavik and the normal work schedule is 12 hours per day on a rotation of 4 weeks: 2 weeks worked (84 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 2 weeks for rest.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Reporting to the Underground Mine Captain, the supervisor has the following responsibilities in particular: 
  •  
  • * Plan, organize, manage material and human resources at the drilling, blasting, withdrawal, and backfilling level. 
  • * Monitor the quality of work performed in accordance with the company's quality and profitability objectives. 
  • * Manage and mobilize a team of around 20 people; lead complex cases and resolve conflicts in his department. 
  • * Participate in human resources management practices (workforce planning, recruitment, management of disciplinary measures, staff evaluation, etc.). 
  • * Develop and maintain a network with local stakeholders. 
  • * Assist the contractor in his daily needs. 
  • * Meet the company's health and safety requirements and recommendations. 
  • * Perform other related tasks associated with this position.

  • QUALIFICATIONS 
  • * Hold a college diploma (DEC) in mining, or equivalent. 
  • * Have a Minimum of 10 years of experience in underground mining, including 5 years as a supervisor. 
  • * Have strong skills in planning, leadership, and personnel management. 
  • * Be able to take a position in more complex cases in conflict management and project management. 
  • * Business acumen and a sense of excellence in customer service. 
  • * Hold the mining modules (FMTM 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7). 
  • * Hold a valid general explosive permit. 
  • * Bilingualism (French and functional English). 
  • * Hold a valid class 5 driving license.

  • * Accredited training in mine rescue and first aid in the workplace. 
  • * Experience in the mining sector in northern Quebec.
